PLACENTIA VILLAGE

So is it all just beach and nothing else? Not by a long shot! We're talking private, not primitive!

For you folks who want a little more action, how about a night out on the "town"?   A short boat ride (20 minutes at 30mph) to the mainland and the village of Placentia.

Downtown starts at the beach where you land, Once there you can continue your stroll down the beach for dinner at one of the restaurants, then on to a sports bar for some entertainment. Many bars and restaurants serve right on the beach under the stars or under a primitive thatch roof "Palapa" (no walls), or rent a taxi or drive your own rental scooter to explore further from the village or you could, talk to the friendly locals. When you're finished with everything it is a short boat ride back to your island where peace and tranquility awaits you?  The next day some "Private Time" with lunch and wine on a secluded beach, hammock time. Are you pampered or what!?.

SURVEY

The island has not been surveyed. A measure of the perimeter of the island by tape measure found it to be 2,980' plus or minus 100' for our possible errors. Roughly calculated that would make the island about 12 acres or 4.856 Ha. A registered surveyor estimates that a comprehensive survey would cost $1,000.00 US including transportation to the island.

FRESH WATER

There is fresh well water on the island in limited quantities. The water table is only a few feet below the surface so it's quality for drinking purposes should be in question but it is useable for bathing, washing clothes, etc. It can be purified with simple filters for drinking.

Larger quantities may be gathered by catching rain water off roofs and storing in vats. This is a common practice on the islands and even on the mainland. There being no polluting industry in Belize so this water is pure for any purpose including drinking.

Unlimited quantities may be obtained by desalination plants which are very cost effective these days and are simple to operate. The price of installing and operating a desalination plant is such that a number of resorts in Belize opt for their own desalination plants over well or city water.

ELECTRICITY

Being a private island that is uninhabited, there is no electricity. Depending you the quantity required the most common power sources are, power generators, wind and solar.

THE REST OF BELIZE

Belize probably has the highest proportion of National parks on land and at sea than any other country in the world and the Belize Barrier Reef is designated as one of the 7 underwater wonders of the world so get into your boat, depart your island and discover the rest of Belize the leisurely way.  The Belize Barrier Reef is only 140 miles long and you are situated about 40 miles from the southern boundary. That means you're  no further than 100 miles to anything in Belize.

So just when was it that you really gave yourself time to just relax? I mean, really relax. You would expect to pay much more for a truly private island such as Moho Caye but it can be yours from front to back, north to south, east to west, from shore to shore.....there is not a single inhabitant on the island.  It is not sub-divided in any way and will not be as long as the present owner owns it.  You may sub-divide after you purchase if you wish.
