The Greenwich Historical Society states that it is the only example of this architecture in Greenwich because of the prohibitive cost of its construction. About 3/4 of a mile down Field Point Rd. is a westbound entrance ramp to NYC onto 95. Between the house and this entrance ramp, there are no traffic lights or traffic congestion.
It is about a mile to the railroad station, a very easy walk.
Westchester County Airport is located on the Greenwich border and is about 15 minutes away. This airport has many corporate and private jets as well as direct commercial flights to Chicago, Minneapolis, Atlanta etc. One can connect to every where else. LaGuardia Airport is about 35 minutes and JFK about 45 minutes away.
Many celebrities and extremely wealthy people have chosen Greenwich and in particular, Belle Haven to reside. for example; The first President Bush grew up here and still has relatives here; as did Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert Kennedy. Actor Henry Fonda formerly lived her and his children Jane & Peter grew up here as did actresses Ali Magraw and Shelly Hack.
